The ODI Fellowship Scheme 2024-2026 offers early-career economists and statisticians the opportunity to work for two years in public sector roles across low- and middle-income countries in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, the Pacific, and the Western Balkans.

Fellows work in various institutions such as finance ministries, health and education ministries, central banks, and regulatory bodies, reporting to local managers.

Qualifications:
- Open to candidates of all nationalities with a master’s degree or PhD in economics, statistics, or related fields.
- Specialized qualifications may include agricultural economics, environmental economics, international economics, health economics, development economics, and econometrics/statistics.

Skills Required:
- Strong grasp of economic and statistical theory, with the ability to apply it to real-world problems.
- Proficiency in data analysis and problem-solving.
- Effective communication skills for conveying technical ideas to non-specialists.
- Personal qualities like resilience, cultural sensitivity, and adaptability.
- Management skills including prioritization, delegation, time management, and project management.
- Language proficiency in English (essential) and French (advantageous), along with strong IT skills.

Application Deadline:
- Application process closes on April 30th, 2024, at 23:59 BST.
- Candidates must submit applications within seven days of registering.

Selection Process:
- Applications are assessed based solely on the application form.
- Candidates are required to provide details of three referees, but they won't be contacted at this stage.
- Interviews and assessments are scheduled for late July 2024.

Contract Details:
- Fixed-term contract for two years.
- Total compensation approximately £32,600 per annum in the first year and £34,600 in the second year, inclusive of a housing allowance based on the cost of living in the host country.
