META AI has introduced the Segment Anything project, which democratizes segmentation in computer vision.

The project introduces the largest-ever segmentation dataset, the Segment Anything 1-Billion mask dataset (SA-1B), and a general Segment Anything Model (SAM), which can generate masks for any object in any image or video.

The possibilities for SAM are broad and could be used in numerous domains.
