Google Research is seeking a Research Scientist to join its team and contribute to the forefront of technology and innovation in areas like NLP, Machine Learning, and AI. This role involves setting up large-scale tests, deploying ideas, and developing new products and technologies. The focus will be on multilingual natural language processing for low-resource languages, aiming to develop Large Language Models (LLMs) for application in translation and semantic understanding tasks.

Minimum Qualifications:
- PhD in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of experience in NLP, NLU, Machine Learning, or similar.
- Experience in programming languages such as Python or C/C++.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Innovative research experience.
- Coding proficiency and ability to work within a team.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity in research environments.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and write code for data collection, cleaning, and processing.
- Design algorithms for model training and prediction.
- Manage experiments on TPU cloud.
- Contribute to the wider research community through publications.
