This course is an overview of American public policy and government, focusing on the impact of policies on social, economic, and political issues. It will examine the intersection of religion and politics, fiscal and monetary policy, welfare policies, the tax system, regulatory policy, and trade agreements. The course will illustrate the wide-ranging effects of policies with specific examples such as the 2008 economic downturn and climate change.
