The Humboldt Research Fellowship offers postdoctoral and experienced researchers from all countries (excluding Germany) the opportunity for a 6–24-month research stay in Germany. The fellowship provides financial support, including a monthly stipend of €2,670 for postdocs and €3,170 for experienced researchers. Additional benefits such as language courses, family support, and travel allowances are also available.
Postdocs should have completed their doctorate within the last four years, while experienced researchers should have completed their doctorate within the last twelve years, with an extensive publication record. Applications are reviewed by a selection committee meeting three times a year in March, July, and November. The application process involves submitting required documents online, including a CV, research outline, publication list, and host's statement. Successful applicants can begin their fellowship between two and twelve months after selection.
If an application is unsuccessful, re-application is possible after 18 months, with improvements to the application required. Decisions cannot be appealed.
