The AAUW International Fellowships program provides financial support to women pursuing full-time graduate or postdoctoral study in the United States. The fellowships are open to women who are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents and who intend to return to their home countries to pursue professional careers. Since its inception in 1917, the program has supported women in becoming leaders in various fields including business, government, academia, community activism, and the arts or sciences.

Funding:
- Master’s/first professional degree: $20,000
- Doctoral: $25,000
- Postdoctoral: $50,000

Key Dates:
- Application Opens: August 1 every year
- Application Deadline: November 15 every year
- Notification of Decisions: April 15, 2024
- Fellowship Year: July 1, 2024 – June 30, 2025

Eligibility:
- Non-U.S. citizenship or non-permanent residency.
- Earned a U.S. bachelor's degree equivalent by the application deadline.
- Applied to proposed institutions of study by the application time.
- Commitment to return to the home country to pursue a professional career.
- Proficiency in English.

Special consideration is given to applicants from developing/emerging countries or underrepresented groups. Applicants must demonstrate academic achievement and a commitment to advancing women and girls.

Funding Covers:
- Educational and living expenses.
- Dependent child care.
- Travel to professional meetings (up to 10% of the fellowship total).

Funding Does Not Cover: Equipment purchase, indirect costs, research assistants, previous expenditures, publication costs, institutional costs, or tuition for dependents.
