The British Council is proud to announce the continuation of the global Women in STEM scholarship programme, in partnership with leading UK universities for the fourth consecutive year.

This initiative is designed for women from selected countries in South Asia with a bachelor's degree in STEM subjects who are passionate about their studies and are seeking financial support to pursue a master's degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics programs at a prestigious UK university.

The scholarship aims to address the gender disparity in STEM fields, as highlighted by UNESCO data showing that less than 30% of the world's researchers are women, and a similarly low percentage of female students select STEM-related fields in higher education.

Eligibility: Women who can demonstrate a need for financial support, have an undergraduate degree in a STEM field, and meet the English language requirements for postgraduate study in the UK. Applicants should not hold dual British citizenship, be related to or employees of His Majesty’s Government or the British Council, currently receive financial support for their UK studies from another source, or have previously studied in the UK with funding from a UK government-funded scholarship.

Benefits: The scholarship includes full tuition fees, living stipend, travel costs, visa and health coverage fees, and a refund of an IELTS English language test fee, if needed.

How to Apply: Applications must be made directly to participating universities. Deadlines vary by institution, so please check carefully to avoid disappointment.

Available Scholarships: Offerings include master's programs across various STEM fields such as Biomedical Science, Engineering, Data Science, Food Safety, Biotechnology, Environmental Change, and more at prestigious institutions.
